- I heard a slurping noise coming from the kitchen table where Lille Pige was eating some soup. It wasn't the sound you hear when someone is slurping from the edge of the bowl. It was a sound that you hear when someone is slurping out of a straw. Sure enough, she had gone and found a straw and was drinking her soup. I asked her about it. Her response? "My hand got tired of the spoon."
- I was nursing Bitsy in public the other day. I had her (and me) completely covered. Someone walked up and, after a few pointless exchanges, asked me how long I planned on doing 'that.' Rather than tell them "until she's in college," I answered "probably about ten more minutes."
- Our Christmas tree is still up, undecorated, waiting to be boxed.
- I might decorate it for Valentine's Day. Or get a jump start on Christmas 2013.
- We came home from being in town last night to a very, very agitated pack of dogs. It didn't take us long to find out why. We heard meowing UNDER OUR DINING ROOM TABLE. One of the barn cats had found her way into the house and had been defending herself for three hours against two herding dogs. She was fine. Ruffian, on the other hand, doesn't speak hissing-cat-with-claws. He was shredded from the forehead to the nose. Miss Kitty is apparently a ninja.
- Lille Pige has mastered a hula hoop. It's totally adorable. Especially when she tries to pull up her pants at the same time.
- She's also fond of dancing, no matter what music is playing. She imitates so many different styles and can bust a move or knock out a plie without a second thought. Also hilarious.
- I forgot to wash diapers yesterday. Thank the Lord we had a few Seventh Generation disposables hanging around.
- Bitsy makes a funny face when you put a paper diaper on her.
- I ordered a juicer today.
- I overslept this morning. Le Roi is out of town on business. Drengen forgot to set his alarm. Everyone was late to school this morning. Mother of the Year. Right here.
- As usual, Christmas is over. I'm ready for summer.
- Do you ever run across someone on the Internet you used to know? And within three clicks, you're sure that they need to stay in the "used to know" category? Yes. All of the time. Twice in one day, even.
- My feet are cold.
- This is long enough.
